Position Title: Associate Research Scientist

Duties & Responsibilities: Responsibilities of the position include: 1) providing expert biostatistical consultation and collaboration on study design, implementation, analysis and the preparation of protocols, grants and manuscripts for multiple projects; 2) planning and overseeing comprehensive analyses for many types of data and types of studies; 3) training clinical faculty in the principles of biostatistics and study design and 4) supervising master’s level biostatisticians.

Position Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD by the start of appointment in statistics, biostatistics or a closely related field. This position requires the ability to do collaborative research with clinician scientists in the Program of Translational Research. Experience in the development and application of statistical methodology in translational research in the following areas is preferred: biomarker evaluation, model selection and risk prediction methods, biomarker guided interventional trials, multi-center studies and large data set analysis. The ability to work independently on several different projects with a range of investigators across a variety of clinical disciplines is essential. Excellent oral and written communication skills along with proficiency with statistical computer languages such as SAS, R, S-plus etc. are a must.

Salary Range: Contingent on education and experience.
