The University of Arizona Statistics Consulting Laboratory is affiliated with the BIO5 Institute. BIO5 is an in interdisciplinary research unit, which reports directly to the Vice President of Research, fosters collaboration with individuals in nine colleges and numerous centers and departments across campus, and interfaces with multiple constituents in Arizona, the nation and internationally. BIO5 is dedicated to stimulating leading-edge interdisciplinary research, to translate the research to real-world application in medicine and agriculture, to train the next generation of scientists and to increase science knowledge throughout society.
Position Title:
Statistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
The primary duties of the statisticians will be to partner with The University of Arizona investigators on a variety of basic, applied, and clinical research studies to provide statistical expertise and computing. These positions have a special emphasis in supporting research involving integration and analysis of data from next-generation sequencing technologies, as well as other methods of high-dimensional biology. Additional statistical activities include grant proposal development, study design and analysis, interpretation of results, and communicating results to non-statistical researchers.
Position Qualifications:
M.S. in Statistics, Biostatistics or related field. Facility with statistics and bioinformatics computing. Two or more years of statistical consulting experience or Ph. D. Experience with database development.
