M-KOPA is a mobile technology company that uses mobile payments to offer consumer financing for energy products and services, targeted at off-grid users in Kenya. The M-KOPA payment system uses mobile payments as a way to pay slowly for renewable energy for a range of applications such as solar lighting or mobile charging. M-KOPA is seeking an energetic data analyst intern to help with the analysis of M-KOPA’s customer and commercial data held in our MIS database.
Position Title:
Data Analyst Intern
Duties & Responsibilities:
Assist with the analysis of M-KOPA’s MIS data in order to help inform our commercial strategy. Analyze the relationship between the detailed customer data and the findings from the in-field research. Develop key findings and recommendations (backed up by statistical evidence) for pricing and other business decisions.
Position Qualifications:
A degree or significant progress toward a degree in mathematics or statistics • Strong quantitative and statistical analysis skills, and application of these skills in a business environment • Experience analyzing large sets of raw data and developing statistical models • Experience developing key findings and recommendations from data analysis • Preferred in proficient in a statistical software package such as SAS, Stata, or R
Salary Range:
Travel to Kenya + Housing + Living Stipend
