Position Title:
Research Analyst - Statistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Statistician will support and advise mid- and senior-level civilian and military DoD officials regarding the operational and live fire test and evaluation of Major Defense Acquisition Programs. The position involves statistical analysis, experimental design, collaborative research, development of case studies, and educational materials. Additionally, the position involves providing statistical expertise on a variety of military systems in terms of both experimental design and statistical analysis. Close interaction with DoD officials responsible for the planning, development, and execution of tests is required. Strong scientific and technical skills, particularly in the areas of statistical and quantitative analyses, are required as well as the ability to speak and write clearly, think analytically, and work independently. Travel is required.
Position Qualifications:
Candidates must have an advanced technical degree in Statistics, or equivalent training. MS is required or PhD preferred. Candidates with only MS degree must have practical statistical experience in engineering design, operational, or survivability testing of military or similarly complex systems. Candidates must have strong computational skills. Candidates must have demonstrated ability in applied statistical work; prefer candidates with expertise in design of experiments, reliability, computer experiments and uncertainty quantification, Bayesian methods, spatio-temporal and longitudinal data, or survey methods. Military or civilian DoD acquisition or test experience is a plus. Candidates selected will be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information as required. U.S. Citizenship is required.
