Position Title:
Postdoctoral Fellow
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Biostatistics in the Division of Quantitative Sciences at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center has one postdoctoral position open for computational statistics and statistical modeling with applications in biostatistics and bioinformatics. The postdoctoral fellow will work under the supervision of Professors Kim-Anh Do and Francesco Stingo. The primary research focus will be developing statistical and computational methodology for the analysis of complex data, including novel high throughput data.
Position Qualifications:
We seek a highly motivated individual with a Ph.D. in statistics/biostatistics/computer science or related quantitative fields. Candidates must have strong methodology training in statistics/biostatistics; strong programming skills, in particular R/S-PLUS or Matlab; and interest in statistical methodology research. Interest in bioinformatics is a plus. Expertise/skills in the following areas are desirable: analysis of bioinformatics data, MCMC computation, Bayesian hierarchical models, graphical models, statistical computation, medical research applications, and additional programming skills in a lower level language such as C/C++ or Fortran.
