Company Information: The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of Family and Community Medicine seeks a biostatistician faculty member. The UNM Health Sciences Center (HSC) includes an NCI-funded cancer research and treatment center, NCI-SEER registry, and Institute for Public Health, a Center for Native American Health, an advanced neuro-imaging center (MIND institute), and a primary care practice-based research network (RIOS Net). There are opportunities for collaboration with UNM’s Clinical Translational Science Center (CTSC), the NM Department of Health, the U.S. Public Health Service/Indian Health Service, local units of government and tribes and tribally-sanctioned organizations. The University of New Mexico is in beautiful Albuquerque, New Mexico with mountains to the east and a mesa to the west. The climate is temperate and especially conducive to outdoor activities and sports, including running, hiking, biking, skiing, canoeing and horseback riding. Our research agenda focuses on health disparities, health services research and prevention.

Position Title: Biostatistician Faculty

Duties & Responsibilities: This is a full-time position. The successful candidate will teach biostatistics courses to PHP students and provide biostatistics consultation to department researchers and the wider HSC community including the CTSC Design, Biostatistics, and Ethics Core.

Position Qualifications: Minimum Requirements: • An earned doctoral degree in biostatistics • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. Preferred Requirements: • Strong communication skills. • Experience working with diverse medically underserved populations. • Experience working with epidemiological or health services data bases. • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in teaching, research, and community-based practice research. • Demonstrated experience in teaching both introductory and intermediate biostatistics courses.

Salary Range: Salary and rank commensurate with qualifications and experience.
