Position Title:
Postdoctoral position in bioinformatics/computational biology
Duties & Responsibilities:
One postdoctoral position in computational biology/bioinformatics is immediately available. This position requires excellent programming skills and a firm knowledge of bioinformatics and grasp of biological systems. Ongoing projects include 1) sequencing studies using RNA-Seq and DNA-Seq of tissue specific transcriptomic and epigenomic modulation in human, 2) related RNA-Seq and DNA-Seq studies in human samples with focus on allelic imbalance and RNA editing, and 3) eQTL study on heart failure.
Position Qualifications:
Experience with next-generation sequencing data and the ability to work between both computational and biology disciplines are required. A suitable candidate should have a doctoral degree in a quantitative field, such as bioinformatics, computational biology, genetics, biostatistics, or computer science with training in genomics. A successful candidate should also demonstrate the ability of independent thinking and possession of excellent communication and writing skills.
Salary Range:
Salary is commensurate with qualifications but will exceed NIH standard post-doctoral stipends.
