Company Information: The Department of Biostatistics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill is seeking to recruit an aspiring international scholar in statistical science for the Pranab K. Sen Distinguished Visiting Professorship in Biostatistics. The position is for the spring semester beginning January 2013 for a period of six months. Preference will be given to applicants for developing countries.

Position Title: Pranab K. Sen Distinguished Visiting Professorship

Duties & Responsibilities: The visiting faculty, who will come from an area of statistical science, broadly defined, including bioinformatics, will come to UNC-CH to conduct research, possibly teach, and ineract with faculty, students, and the university community.

Position Qualifications: Applicants should have a PhD in statistics or biostatistics or have commensurate educational background. The major benefit will be an intensive interaction of the visitor's strong methodology background with applications to interdisciplinary research underway at UNC-CH. Ideally, the visiting scholar will return to his or her home country for at least one year upon completing the appointment to further expand the research of interdisciplinary work begun in Chapel Hill.

Salary Range: The visiting professorship, at the assistant, associate or full professor level, offers salary support commensurate with rank Financial support for other expenses such as travel is negotiable.
