Company Information: Sibley Heart Center Cardiology is a group of physicians who provide comprehensive services for infants, children, teenagers and young adults with congenital heart defects or acquired cardiac disease. The biostatistician will provide data analysis support for researchers in the cardiac service line at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta.

Position Title: Statistician

Duties & Responsibilities: Essential Duties and Responsibilities • Perform statistical techniques such as univariate analysis, multivariate analysis, linear and logistic regression, correlation and graphical representations of data • Prepare datasets for analysis by merging files, creating analysis variables, editing data, and developing documentation • Assist with interpretation of analysis results • Design and implement appropriate data collection and quality control methods • Assist with preparation, editing, coordination, and publishing of findings in peer-reviewed journals • Assist in study design, statistical methods and power analysis for grant applications • Serve as an educational resource on statistics for the department • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein Performance Expectations • Safeguard sensitive and confidential company information. • Maintain professional competence and skills necessary to effectively perform primary job duties • Establish and maintain effective work relationships within department and company • Must be organized and have good time management skills • Ability to adapt well to changes in workload and projects • Must be self-motivated and have the ability to work with minimal supervision

Position Qualifications: • Master's Degree or Ph.D. in biostatistics, statistics, mathematics or a related field of study with at least two years of coursework in statistics or biostatistics. • Three (3) or more years advanced data analysis experience in analyzing medical, public health, or health research data using statistical package(s). • Advanced SAS programming experience, including macros and complex statistical analysis preferred. • Ability to organize, manipulate, and analyze large clinical and administrative datasets. • Ability to express complex statistical concepts and technical information to researchers or to audiences with clinical training • Ability to write statistical methods and sample size/power considerations for complex projects with minimal guidance • Knowledge in the design of observational studies or clinical trials preferred • Experience in survey methodology preferred • Excellent analytic and critical thinking skills, writing skills, communication skills, consulting skills, and ability to work within a team • Must be an independent self-starter
