Maimonides Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York seeks a Research Data Analyst to advance the Medical Center’s development and maintenance of critical clinical data repositories that will advance original research studies. Maimonides Medical Center is a 100-year old teaching hospital with 700 inpatient beds offering primary, secondary and tertiary care. More than 1500 physicians, nurses and other medical professionals deliver care to patients, amounting to 47,000 inpatient visits, 210,000 outpatient clinic visits, and more than 100,000 Emergency Room visits each year. More than 400 residents and medical students are trained at Maimonides each year.
Position Title:
RESEARCH DATA ANALYST
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Research Data Analyst will work as part of a team to build critical clinical data repositories in targeted areas of medicine. The Analyst will coordinate closely with clinicians, research staff, and Medical Information Systems to extract relevant data and build relational databases that will enable secondary data analyses. The Research Data Analyst will be part of the Office of Research Administration and work closely with the Senior Biostatistician and the Associate Director of Health Services Research. The Analyst will report to the Vice President of Research and Health Services Initiatives.
Position Qualifications:
- At least a Masters degree required (e.g. Statistics, Public Health, etc.) - At least 5 years of experience working with health care-related data (public health, administrative, electronic medical record data, performance reporting, clinical trials) - Significant experience building relational databases and in data mining, cataloguing, documentation and organization - Experience working with and creating relational databases (Oracle, SQL server, MS Access, etc.) - Familiarity working with data from multiple types (csv, txt, Excel, mdb, accd, etc) - Experience creating at least one original data repository - High familiarity with statistical software packages e.g. SPSS, SAS - Excellent project management skills - Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as part of a team
