Postdoctoral Fellow
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute seeks a postdoctoral fellow in biostatistics or statistics. The postdoctoral fellow will work with Dr. Rebecca Gelman in collaborating with investigators in the Harvard Center for HIV research. This will involve helping with designs, grant proposals, and analyses of laboratory, animal, and human observational studies related to HIV prevention, vaccines, anti-retroviral treatment, and opportunistic infection treatment. The postdoctoral fellow will also work with Dr. Giovanni Parmigiani on development, and application to ovarian cancer, of methodologies for the validation of genomic predictors of survival. The position offers excellent scientific training opportunities in a highly stimulating and interdisciplinary environment involving close interactions between statisticians, immunologists, virologists, infectious disease specialists, and cancer biologists.
Position Qualifications:
Applicants should have a strong quantitative background and hold a Ph.D. in Statistics or Biostatistics, with an interest in collaborating with non-statistical researchers. Previous consulting or collaboration experience is highly desirable. Good communication and programming skills are required. Familiarity with HIV research is a plus but is not required.
