Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Statistical Genetics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Fardo lab in the Biostatistics Department of the University of Kentucky College of Public Health invites applicants to apply for a 2-3 year Postdoctoral Fellowship in statistical genetics. We are looking for highly motivated scientists to integrate into our new lab. Our work focuses on developing statistical methodologies to derive the maximal amount of information from genetic data sources and to, ultimately, help unravel the genetic foundations of complex disease. Position Qualifications: The successful applicant will work closely with Dr. David Fardo to develop novel statistical methodology, to apply these methods and others to genetic association studies and to present and publish research results. The position requires a doctoral degree (or to be near completion) in Statistics/Biostatistics, Computer Science, Biology, Bioinformatics or a related discipline as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in R is required, with some skill in a compiled language and a scripting language.
