It is located on the 500-acre campus of the National Centers for Animal Health in Ames, Iowa, where it maintains a close affiliation with the other animal disease centers on the campus as well as nearby Iowa State University. Position Title:
Mathematical Statistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
The USDA Center for Veterinary Biologics is seeking a statistician who is a good communicator comfortable dealing with practical scientific issues. The position is in the center’s Statistics Section, which provides statistical services to scientific reviewers and laboratory scientists. The work of the Statistics Section includes – - Statistical design, analysis, and interpretation of scientific studies - Application of statistical principles to specific problems in applied disciplines - Communicating effectively with scientists about practical issues
Position Qualifications:
Candidates should have an MS in statistics. Experience is desirable but not required. Areas of specific interest that may be relevant include laboratory applications, clinical applications, statistical programming, or quality control methods.
