Position Title:
Associate Research Scientist
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Department of Biostatistics of Columbia University’s Mailman School of Public Health seeks applicants for a research position in Biostatistics at the Associate Research Scientist rank to work alongside a principal investigator whose work emphasizes the development of new statistical methods for analyzing genetic and genomic data on human complex diseases and traits. More specifically, the work focuses on the new statistical approaches for (1) analysis of next-generation sequencing data, (2) analysis of DNA methylation data and (3) analysis of how genetic, epigenetic variants, and environmental factors interact with each other on complex human diseases and traits.
Position Qualifications:
We seek a researcher with a doctoral degree in statistics, biostatistics, computer science or other related fields, with a strong quantitative research background and computing experience working with large scale data. Strong computational and communication skills are essential for the position.
