Position Title: Specialist- Research

Duties & Responsibilities: CSTAT has an open slot for a Specialist; we are looking to fill it with someone whose skills are similar to those of a Senior Statistician. The Specialist will work collaboratively with the Director and Associate Director to carry out the mission of CSTAT. Furthermore, the Specialist will assist CSTAT clients through provision of statistical consulting services, preparing bids as needed for project work, and assisting with grant development and sponsored research.

Position Qualifications:  Doctorate degree in statistics or related field including other doctoral degrees with a strong quantitative emphasis.  Experience with grant writing and funded research.  Broad knowledge of research design issues and approaches pertinent to experimental, quasi-experimental, and observational studies.  Extensive repertoire of knowledge and skills related to applied statistical methodologies, particularly those frequently used in the social sciences.  Expertise with a wide range of statistical software.  Interest in research topics in education, communications arts and sciences, and other social science disciplines.  Highly self-motivated, excellent organizational planning, detail oriented.  Two or more years of related and expansive experience in statistical consulting, research, or data management and analysis.  Strong interpersonal skills and written and oral communication skills with proven ability to be successful working independently and in a team environment.

Salary Range: Salary commensurate with degree and experience.
