Position Title:
Statistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
We are currently seeking a Statistician in our Center for Clinical and Research Informatics (CCRI) group. CCRI builds upon NorthShores award-winning electronic medical record and extensive data warehouse. CCRI is charged with the responsibility of innovative collection and use of clinical data (e.g. novel workflows and architectures, machine learning, visualization, other multi-variety analysis techniques, and distributed or parallel computing approaches). This position is located in Evanston, IL with easy access to the CTA and METRA. In this role you will: Perform independent methodological and applied research in biostatistics, such as developing novel Bayesian methods involving Markov chain Monte Carlo simulations for large scale high-throughput biomedical data. Perform statistical analyses for a variety of clinical research activities, and participate in large-scale bio- and medical informatics projects, grants, and collaborations. Provide professional research support, including assistance in the preparation of manuscripts, reports, abstracts, protocols and grants.
Position Qualifications:
Our ideal candidate will have: PhD Degree in biostatistics or statistics Must have knowledge of research design and statistical analysis methods, and expertise in programming and computing (especially SAS and R). Ability to be successful in a matrix environment. Analytical, critical thinking, problem solving and deductive reasoning skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
