Applications are invited for two Visiting Assistant Professorships in statistics or related area. Appointments will begin on August 15th, 2012 and will be for one year, with the possibility of renewal for a second year. Teaching load will nominally be between 12-18 credit hours per academic year of undergraduate or graduate courses. The Department of Mathematical Sciences is dedicated to excellence in both research and teaching. The department has a graduate program offering MS in mathematics and statistics, and PhD with concentration in mathematics and statistics.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Candidates will also be expected to show evidence of high-quality teaching skills as well as strong research potential in an area of statistics or in a related field that is closely related to the areas of expertise of current faculty.
Position Qualifications:
Candidates must have a PhD in statistics or in a related field such as mathematics by the start date, but preference will be given to applicants with PhD in statistics. Candidates will also be expected to show evidence of high-quality teaching skills as well as strong research potential in an area of statistics or in a related field that is closely related to the areas of expertise of current faculty.
