Position Title: Master's level Biostatistician

Duties & Responsibilities: The department is expecting one open position for a Master’s level Biostatistician and application review will start immediately upon approval. Under the direction of the Program Director and faculty in the Biostatistics Program at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, the Biostatistician will be responsible for providing statistical expertise in the design, evaluation, and analysis of data arising from research studies. Additional job responsibilities include writing of analysis reports including explanation of methods used and interpretation of results obtained, as well as assisting investigators in the development of presentation and publication materials related to research findings and performing other related duties at the discretion of the Program Director.

Position Qualifications: Qualified candidates must have a Master’s degree in Biostatistics or Statistics completed by May of 2012 or sooner. A strong background of statistical methods applicable to the clinical field, data analysis, and programming knowledge in SAS and R is required. A minimum of two years work related work experience is required; experience gained while enrolled as a student might be considered. Experience using other software packages such as STATA is a plus. Experience with LaTeX and database management software is also preferred. Strong written and oral communication skills and demonstrated ability to work in a team environment is required.
