Position Title:
Statistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
This position provides high-level support to healthcare professionals, specifically with technical writing, database evaluation and statistical analysis. The incumbent will assist Intermountain Healthcare's physicians and researchers with the preparation and submission of abstracts and manuscripts for publication. As necessary, the incumbent will also consult with and support in the development, analysis, interpretation and writing of abstracts and manuscripts. Job Essentials: Designs, develops, and tests queries and programs for collecting data using knowledge of spreadsheets and database software programs. This includes SQL-queries of the Electronic Data Warehouse. Creates and maintains databases, using knowledge of database software, for collection and tracking of data as it relates to performance measurement. Works directly with Principal Investigators to develop and prepare quantitative reports. Assists investigators using multiple data sources to analyze clinical and operational issues. Uses knowledge of statistics to advise Principle Investigators on the best statistical methods and tests to analyze data. Downloads, transfers, collects, and formats data from various Intermountain data sources including the EDW. Participates in Outcomes Research and Development projects supporting collaborative research initiatives between Intermountain Healthcare and qualified external organizations.
Position Qualifications:
Master's degree; Education is verified and degree must be obtained through an accredited institution Two years training in quantitative and qualitative analysis and research methods Two years progressive outcome oriented experience in the healthcare field Technical writing experience Experience in the development, analysis, interpretation, and management of a variety of complex data sources Demonstrated knowledge of quality improvement principles, theory, study design and statistical modeling
