Position Title:
Biostatistical Analyst III
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Biostatistics Core in Geisinger Health System is seeking a highly motivated, senior biostatistician to provide leadership to junior biostatisticians and work with the Director on educational offerings and out reach to clinical departments. The successful candidate will join a team of academic biostatisticians, analysts, and database programmers working on a wide variety of collaborative projects in clinical and epidemiologic research with a particular emphasis in medicine and cardiology. Job responsibilities include: mentoring and training junior biostatisticians, teaching biostatistics methods to clinicians, meeting one-on-one with collaborators to gain background on the study and the research questions; refining the questions; formulating the hypotheses, and study design; researching and selectingappropriate statistical tools for addressing a given biologic question; applying and evaluating statistical methods; interpreting and communicatingresults. Responsible for providing statistical support as a consultant or collaborator, to clinical and health service investigators within the Geisinger Health System. Responsible for managing staff of the Biostatistical unit in the Center for Health Research. Reports to the Staff Biostatistician/Epidemologist or Director, Health Research.
Position Qualifications:
Masters Degree in Statistics or closely related field required. *Minimum of 5-8 years experience with major statistical software packages required. *Minimum of 8 years successful experience in effectively communication quantitative information to medical and administrative personnel is necessary. *Record of independent or collaborative publications required. The candidate will have a minimum of 5-8 years of progressive experience with at least 2 years of managerial experience strongly preferred.
