USC's Marshall School of Business, Information and Operations Management, is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistics. This is a fixed-term, one-year position with the possibility of renewal.
Position Title:
Postdoctoral Research Associate in Statistics
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Postdoctoral Research Associate will assist Drs. Jinchi Lv and Yingying Fan, Assistant Professors of Information and Operations Management, with research on statistical methodology and theory. The position is funded by Federal research grants and requires no teaching. Responsibilities include developing new statistical methods on areas including model selection, variable selection, functional data analysis, and classification for the analysis of high-dimensional data, as well as financial econometrics.
Position Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctorate within previous five years Experience: 0-1 year Field of Expertise: Directly related education in research specialization with advanced knowledge of equipment, procedures and analysis methods. Preferred Qualifications Education: Ph.D. degree in statistics or related field Experience: Solid background in statistics, independent research experience, strong programming skills in R/Matlab/C++, and strong quantitative skills Field of Expertise: Publications in peer-reviewed journals in statistics or related field
