Position Title: Statistics Online Content and Course Developer

Duties & Responsibilities: The Statistics Online Content and Course Developer will work closely with the Columbia University Department of Statistics Faculty and the SCE Online team to provide subject matter expertise, and execute content and instructional object and assessment development for courses in the MA in Statistics and MS in Actuarial Science. This position will provide subject matter expertise for the development of online content, learning objects and assessment activities to support graduate-level Statistics instruction in an online format. The role will be responsible for the determination of learning resources to support course syllabi, development of related learning objects and assessment instruments, and the development of instructional video and graphics as needed. The Online Content and Curriculum Developer will work side by side with Statistics Department Faculty and the School of Continuing Education Online team to assure that the course curricula, materials, activities and assessments are designed to ensure that students are developing the knowledge and skills needed to successfully complete the program. Position Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: Qualified applicants must: • Demonstrate excellence in teaching graduate level courses in statistics at a nationally ranked, accredited university, and have an M.A. in Statistics or a related field. • Have experience developing problem sets and writing solutions for graduate level statistics coursework. • Evidence significant experience implementing statistical software and developing graphics for educational purposes. Should be familiar with: SAS, R, Matlab and SPSS. • Display good writing skills, attention to detail, and computer experience. Preferred Qualifications: All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply. A PhD in Statistics or a related field is preferred. Special consideration will be accorded to applicants who have programming experience and background in developing content and activities/assessments for educational software and/or online courses. Special consideration will also be given to candidates with extensive online teaching experience.

Salary Range: This position is retained and paid on a project (per course) basis.
