Position Title:
ORISE fellow
Duties & Responsibilities:
conduct statistical research in the area of life sciences. Specifically, collect and analyze quantitative and categorical chemical and toxicological information; construct and validate multivariate models relating properties of chemical objects (e.g. 2D graphs) to toxicological observations (a so called quantitative structure-activity analysis -- QSAR).
Position Qualifications:
PhD (or MS) in the area of (bio)statisitcs, quantitative/computational biology/chemometrics. Advanced analytical skills. The degree must have been obtained within the last five years. Good written and communication skills. Experience with statistical programming using either R or SAS. GUI and UNIX computer skills is an advantage. Citizen, permanent resident, J/F visa holder.
Salary Range:
commensurate with experience; typically an equivalent of GS-9/GS-11.
Benefits:
negotiable. Position duration: 1 year with possible extensions of up to 4 years, subject of availability of funds and performance.
