Company Information: Saint Luke’s Mid America Heart Institute is an internationally recognized center for excellence in cardiovascular care, education and research. In addition to its numerous research programs, it is the directing center for the Cardiovascular Outcomes Research Consortium (CORC), a network of national leaders devoted to collaborative efforts in outcomes assessment and quality improvement. Through CORC the Heart Institute administers and is the analytic core for a number of multi-center research studies.

Position Title: Biostatistician

Duties & Responsibilities: • Collaboration with researchers on design, planning and analysis of research studies • Direct interaction with investigators and study sponsors • Preparation, maintenance and documentation of analysis programs and data sets • Identification/creation of appropriate tools for managing and analyzing data • Active review and implementation of contemporary statistical methods • Organization, presentation and interpretation of analytic results including assumptions and scope of inference • Collaboration on preparation of grant proposals, manuscripts abstracts and presentations

Position Qualifications: PhD or MS + 3 years experience in biostatistics or statistics and substantial working experience (2+ years) with complex data structures via SAS. Self-motivation, critical thinking, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and demonstrated writing skills are essential. Experience with clinical or health services data, R/S-Plus, relational databases and SQL are highly desirable.

Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
