Position Title:
Biostatistician
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Biostatistician’s chief accountability is to provide statistical programming and support to leverage local clinical and financial data to provide meaningful analysis and actionable items for health system decision makers. Analysis will be accomplished through knowledge and experience with statistical programming and analytic dataset development, use of local clinical data, and advanced knowledge of biostatistics. Ability to interpret and clearly present analysis results for executive leaders, clinical leaders, medical teams, and other staff will be important for success.
Position Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with a Masters degree in statistics/biostatistics or related fields including public health is required. 3 to 5 years experience in programming and statistical analysis – including experience in dataset development and assurance of data integrity. Work experience with data from the healthcare field is required, and experience working with data from inpatient and outpatient healthcare facilities is preferred. Capable of mentoring and teaching others statistical and analytic tools to benefit the organization. - Proficiency with standard computer hardware and software, including expertise in the use of statistical software (SAS, STATA or R) and SQL is a must - Able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing with a wide range of client/customers at all levels of the organization with differing levels of technical knowledge - Excellent customer service skills required - Strong project management and problem solving/conflict resolution skills essential - Work in fast-paced environment and able to handle multiple priorities/tasks - Deadline oriented - Well organized and strong attention to detail - Effectively and appropriately manage confidential information - Work responsibly in a team environment and independently - Flexibility and comfort with ambiguity and constant change
Salary Range:
