Position Title: Coordinator Statistical Consulting Services/Director Survey & Behavioral Research Services

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Statistics and the Statistical Laboratory at Iowa State University is seeking applicants for the position of Coordinator of Statistical Consulting Services and Director of the Survey and Behavioral Research Services (SBRS). The Coordinator of Statistical Consulting serves as an initial point of contact for university researchers seeking statistical support, supervises graduate assistants who provide statistical support for the Agricultural Experiment Station and other campus units, and provides support for the use of statistical software packages, including organization of training workshops and serving as a liaison to software providers and professional user groups. SBRS is a unit of the Statistical Laboratory that provides survey design, data collection, and data management services that support externally funded research. It also offers grant proposal development services and post-award accounting and reporting services. Duties of the Director include oversight of SBRS resources and staff, promotion of SBRS services, providing statistical advice to SBRS, and participating in the development of multidisciplinary research proposals. The successful candidate will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, superior organizational skills, and the ability to work collegiality with faculty, staff, and students across many disciplines.

Position Qualifications: Minimum qualifications are a Bachelor's degree and eight (8) years of related experience OR a Master's degree and six (6) years of related experience OR a Ph.D. or a PhD degree and three (3) years of experience. The Degree must be in statistics or a related field. Experience should include statistical consulting and working knowledge of SAS, R, and other commonly used statistical software packages. Experience with managing a statistical services center and basic knowledge of survey sampling would be helpful. The SBRS Director can rely on faculty and staff associated with the Center for Survey and Statistics Methodology to provide expertise on complex survey design and analysis.

Salary Range: Salary is commensurate with qualifications.
