Position Title: Postdoctoral Research Fellow

Duties & Responsibilities: A postdoctoral position is available in the Department of Biostatistics, Columbia University starting August 1st 2012. The position involves methodological and applied research in statistical genetics with Dr. Iuliana Ionita-Laza. Examples include developing statistical and computational methods for population-based and family-based designs in the context of large-scale association studies. Application areas include the genetics of asthma, and psychiatric disorders.

Position Qualifications: The ideal applicant should have the following qualifications: 1. PhD in statistics, biostatistics, computer science or other quantitative field. 2. Strong programming skills in R and/or C. 3. Strong quantitative background with a strong interest in applications to genetics.
