Develop and program the statistical methods that provide the analytical backbone to our novel health care web tools

Project:
Work closely with the founders and User Interface (UI) Designers to translate UI requirements into data analysis requirements
Provide input into methodologies and data analysis tools that can meet the data analysis requirements.
Translate data analysis requirements into statistical programming requirements
Use existing SAS® code and develop new SAS® code and macros to automate statistical analysis tasks
Program, validate, and document statistical analysis methods. Ensure that a) outputs are consistent with requirements of web tool users, and b) programs developed for specific tasks are reusable.
Create dataset specifications and verify that specifications are appropriate for their intended use.
Create specifications for obtaining raw data from third parties to support internal statistical analysis and web tool requirements
Create datasets according to provided specifications
Work as primary programmer for one or two projects.
Minimum Requirements:
MS in Statistics or Biostatistics, Computer Science, Mathematics, or Operation Research.
5 years of hands on programming experience in SAS.
Facility with SAS macros.
Good knowledge in the programming of complex data manipulations and statistical models
Working knowledge of more than one statistical packages (S-Plus, R, STATA)
Experience handling and manipulating clinical administrative data such as Medicare claims data
Strong interest in the health care sector
Desired:
Experience with statistical programming to support commercial applications
Experience with database modeling and database systems (MS-SQL, MySQL).
Experience with multiple programming languages, including web programming languages (e.g. PHP, JAVA)
Flexible and able to handle changing demands
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently on multiple projects and off-site
Consistency in meeting deadlines and goals.
Ability to communicate effectively with clinical and scientific advisors and UI designers regarding statistical analysis requirements.
