Company Information: The Department of Mental Health Law and Policy (MHLP) is part of the Louis de la Parte Florida Mental Health Institute in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences, located at the University of South Florida (USF) in Tampa, Florida. The department provides special expertise in the areas of mental health and substance abuse issues within the justice system; community-based services for persons with a mental illness; analysis of policy issues related to funding, delivery, and outcomes of public behavioral health services; and implementation of evidence-based practices related to behavioral health services. Position Title: Statistical Data Analyst (3 Positions)
Duties & Responsibilities: The primary function of these positions is to design and conduct research projects relevant to service delivery and policy within the behavioral health care and criminal justice systems. These analysts will carry out projects and conduct various types of statistical research analyses within the Policy and Services Research Data Center (PSRDC) of the Department of Mental Health Law & Policy. This activity involves conceptualization, design methodologies, SAS programming and debugging skills, project documentation, data base management, and statistical analyses
Position Qualifications: Specialized Minimum Qualifications: Candidates for these positions must meet the Minimum Qualifications of a Bachelor’s degree in a field directly related to the research or data analysis responsibilities and a minimum of one year of research experience; or a Master’s degree in one of the same fields. Preferred Qualifications: Prefer experience working with administrative, health claims, public health or institutional databases. Knowledge of Medicaid or Medicare databases is a plus. Experience working with Pharmaceutical data is also a plus. Prefer a candidate with intermediate SAS skills such as array processing, macro processing, working with multiple data sets simultaneously. Prefer a candidate with statistical analysis skills such as mixed models, survival analysis and general linear models. Experience working on all aspects of analytic projects: conceptualizing, planning, documenting, execution, report writing, archiving. Prefer a candidate with a customer service perspective.
Salary Range: $50,000 - $60,000
