Position Title: Statistical Reseach Coordinator 4 Duties & Responsibilities: QUANTITATIVE ANALYSIS AND DESIGN: This position will be responsible for selecting and applying appropriate statistical methods to answer questions and test hypothesis as specified by health investigators and health services researchers. This position will require expertise in complex statistical methods and algorithms. Expected projects will include design of clinical trials complex multivariate regression analysis and hierarchical linear modeling. Providing leadership to non-statisticians on issues related to research design and statistical analysis by suggesting appropriate designs and methods as well as describing positives and negatives (including budgetary and power limitations) of alternative designs. Interpreting the results of statistical analyses in a way that is meaningful for non-statistician researchers by identifying significant findings limitations of the study design and writing methodology sections of scientific publications. Prioritizing and coordinating multiple tasks so far as to achieve tight deadlines (as determined by commitments to funding agencies) and complying in a timely manner with administrative requests and requirements. PROGRAMMING AND DATA MANAGEMENT: Using SAS software at an expert level of proficiency to manipulate and analyze data. Expertise in SQL programming will be necessary to design and develop databases to be used for data collection activities. Additional expertise in other statistical software and databases such as SPSS Stata R Oracle and MySQL will be important for successful completion of analyses. Position Qualifications: Master's degree in an appropriate area of specialization; or a bachelor's degree in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of appropriate experience. This position will work cooperatively and productively with diverse teams of researchers and support staff. Excellent written and oral communication skills are essential for sucess in this position. This position requires understanding issues related to quality and integrity in health care encounter data in the inpatient outpatient acute and long-term care environments. This position requires the highest regard for data confidentiality and security under all established and evolving federal data initiatives. Accessing manipulating downloading and managing confidential PHI data must be conducted within guidelines proscribed by this university local state and federal regulations.
