College of Oceanic and Atmospheric Sciences Oregon State University Corvallis OR Position Title: Research Associate (Postdoctoral) or Faculty Research Assistant Duties & Responsibilities: Analyzing results of a regional modeling experiment. The experiment builds on a decade of citizen climate modeling based at Oxford University (climateprediction.net); this will be the first time the framework will be used for regional modeling and western US is one of two regions. Outputs include maps of changes in numerous climate variables statistical distributions over sub-areas evaluations of reasonableness of simulations interaction with end users to generate useable output products. This position is partially funded by the state of California and special emphasis will be given to California including traveling to California to interact with end users. Position Qualifications: At the Postdoctoral level a PhD in atmospheric or closely related physical science or statistics. At the Faculty Research Assistant level an M.S. or M.A. in one of these fields. Desired qualifications include significant experience in either analysis of large data sets or in numerical modeling and good oral and written communications skills.
