Business Analytics & Mathematical Sciences Department consists of approximately 120 researchers in various applied mathematics disciplines. Current applied opportunities in statistics include demand/revenue forecasting enterprise market intelligence business intelligence statistical algorithm development IT system/facility management capacity planning contract/signings tracking urban traffic modeling and natural resource management.

Position Title: Regular and Post Doctoral Researchers

Duties & Responsibilities: The responsibilities include working on applied projects in the areas relevant to IBM and conducting methodological research in statistics. The project work is collaborative in nature teaming with other researchers business executives/consultants market analysts system/software engineers external clients and others.

Position Qualifications: A Ph.D. in statistics or a related field (or completion of all requirements for such a degree) is required prior to the employment starting date. Also required are outstanding research potential/record broad knowledge in statistical methods and excellent communication skills. The candidates are expected to have keen interest in solving a wide range of problems and to be an effective team member in interdisciplinary applied projects. Applicants who have not had at least a year of full time professional employment experience are initially considered for the Post Doctoral Researcher position. A candidate for the Research Staff Member position must possess a recognized research record demonstrated effectiveness in collaboration and high leadership potential.
