Duties & Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: • Develops analytic capabilities for the Maryland Poison Center using SAS tools (including SAS Enterprise Guide, SAS Enterprise Miner, SAS Forecast Server, SAS Text Miner, SAS Analytic Suite) • Determines appropriate methods of statistical analysis and applies techniques to determine means of measurement/assessment. • Provides expert advice in development of appropriate research methods. • Coordinates all statistical activities for the Maryland Poison Center. • Provides power and sample size estimation, randomization, study and manuscript review. • Compiles and analyzes data, interpreting trends, fluctuations, and other changes. • Prepares reports, graphs, charts and provides oral presentations. • Works with students, residents, fellows and faculty to develop appropriate research strategies. • Extracts data and prepares data for analysis while ensuring accurate data files. • Anticipates and effectively communicates resource and quality issues that may impact deliverables or timeliness. Proposes and implements solutions. Escalates issues as appropriate. • Other assignments include developing special forms and or formats for analyzing and presenting data.
Position Qualifications:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Master's degree in statistics or other advanced degree with at least 24 credits in statistics. • 2 years of statistical analysis or other business experience. • SAS experience preferred.
