Position Title:
Faculty position
Duties & Responsibilities:
Responsibilities will be mainly to provide biostatistical collaboration to faculty in the Department of Medicine. Duties include working closely with biomedical collaborators in designing studies, assisting in grant writing, using state-of-the-art statistical techniques, teaching biostatistics to medical fellows and junior faculty and presenting study results in manuscripts. Effective collaboration with medical researchers is of major importance. Familiarity with high throughput “omic” analyses will be a plus. Candidate would be expected to teach one course per year.
Position Qualifications:
Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics, or other relevant discipline; At least 1 year of post-graduate experience in providing statistical consultation for medical research; experience in assisting with grant preparation, collaboration on data analysis and publication of medical research articles. The DOMStat consists of five faculty and staff biostatisticians. We collaborate with investigators primarily in the department of medicine but also have collaborations throughout the health sciences schools at UCLA.
