The Department of Statistics at the George Washington University is the oldest department of statistics in a college of arts and sciences in the US and is well known for its teaching and research accomplishments. The Department and the University provide a stimulating academic environment and collaborative research opportunities. The Department has 16 full-time faculty members and offers the B.S., M.S. and PhD degrees in Statistics; M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Biostatistics and in Epidemiology in collaboration with the School of Public Health and Health Services and the Biostatistics Center; a Graduate Certificate in Survey Design and Data Analysis and a Graduate Certificate in Applied Quantitative Risk Analysis.
