Company Information: The Department has 14 full time faculty positions with research interests covering a wide range of topics both in theory and application. Ample opportunities exist for collaboration with faculty in agricultural sciences, biology, engineering, physical sciences, nutrition, kinesiology, and other departments across campus. Research opportunities are enhanced by the existence of multi-disciplinary research institutes and centers, such as the Ecological Genomics Institute, the Kansas Lipidomics Research Center, and the Konza Prairie Biological Station. The department highly values and encourages collaborative research. The annual Applied Statistics in Agriculture Conference, now in its 24th year, boasts outstanding keynote speakers and each year draws over 100 participants from around the country. The department was founded in 1959 and offers B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees. Currently there are about 50 graduate students, about half of whom are working toward a Ph.D. The majority of the graduate students are supported with teaching assistantships. Position Title: tenure-track, 12-month statistical consulting position at the assistant or associate professor

Duties & Responsibilities: Duties will include: statistical consulting/collaborative research with KSU researchers, especially in agriculture; teaching upper-level undergraduate and graduate courses; directing M.S. and Ph.D. students; and service.

Position Qualifications: Qualifications include a Ph.D. in statistics, biostatistics or related area by August, 2012. This position requires the ability to do collaborative research (especially with agricultural researchers) and to consult in the areas of linear models/generalized linear models/generalized mixed linear models, and experimental design. Additional experience with other areas of applied statistics, especially survey sampling, is preferred. Evidence of excellence in teaching is required.
