Position Title:
Biostatistician 1
Duties & Responsibilities:
The biostatistician will analyze interim data from ongoing clinical trials and prepare reports for independent Data and Safety Monitoring Committee (DSMC) review. The biostatistician will work as a part of a statistical and programming team to create, test, document, and archive programs used for analyses. The biostatistician will work to maximize the clarity and completeness of the presentation of study results. The preparation of reports involves SAS statistical software primarily for data examination and data restructuring, R statistical software including macros for generation of report tables and figures, and the technical publishing software, LaTeX, all in a UNIX environment. The biostatistician will be expected to become fully familiar with the study documents: the protocol, case report forms, and statistical analysis plan. The position will require communication with members of the statistical team at Frontier-Madison and may require communication with the outside providers of study data, with the study sponsors, and with individuals reviewing the study. Additional responsibilities will include participation in the presentation of results at meetings of the DSMC including response to queries about the data or analyses and documentation of the meetings' discussions in meeting minutes. Other duties may include attending professional meetings and short courses to expand or maintain professional knowledge and expertise and participating in, and conducting informal seminars and training sessions for the Frontier Science-Madison research group.
