Position Title: Professor of Biostatistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Dartmouth Medical School is seeking a senior Biostatistician at the rank of Associate or Full Professor to conduct innovative methodologic and collaborative research, mentor faculty, and teach biostatistics within the Norris-Cotton Cancer Center and other academic units throughout Dartmouth Medical School. With new leadership at Dartmouth Medical School, there is strengthened focus, and encouraged growth in the field of Biostatistics at Dartmouth. An innovative new Quantitative Biomedical Sciences graduate program will commence in the fall 2011, and is the first of its kind in the country. There are currently eight full-time and several part-time statistical faculty members at the Dartmouth Medical School, along with twenty-two master’s levels statistical analysts who are actively engaged in extramurally-funded statistical and biomedical research. Current faculty and staff are distributed among several Dartmouth departments and locations. Current interests in statistical methods include: clinical trials, measurement error methods, biomedical imaging, genomics and molecular epidemiology, survival analysis, multivariate models, spatial statistics in epidemiology, semiparametric methods, longitudinal methods, diagnostic testing, optimal epidemiologic design, and prevention and therapeutic trials.

Position Qualifications: Applicants should have a doctoral degree in biostatistics or statistics and have internationally recognized contributions to statistical methods, statistical education, and multi-disciplinary collaborative research. In addition to significant experience in biostatistics, preferably with a translational or molecular-genetic focus, applicants should possess a track record of NIH research funding.
