The University of South Carolina's Arnold School of Public Health has national prominance in epidemiology and biostatistics, with research funding from NIH, CDC, other federal and state agencies, private foundations, and industry. There is substantial collaborative research with other entities on and off campus, and we expect significant growth in the biostatistics faculty over the next several years.
Position Title:
Tenure-Track Assistant/Associate Professor Position
Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will have an interest in the application of statistical methodologies to the Health Sciences and is expected to develop and maintain an active research program and lead or participate in externally funded grants; teach biostatistics courses primarily to graduate students in biostatistics, epidemiology, and other fields; and chair and serve on master’s and doctoral thesis committees for students in biostatistics and other departments in the Arnold School of Public Health.
Position Qualifications:
The successful candidate is expected to have a suitable record of publications in biostatistics, teaching, and collaboration. Desired areas of interest include, but are not limited to, translational science, patient outcomes research, longitudinal and survival modeling, community-based studies, semi-parametric modeling, robust methods, latent variable modeling, spatial biostatistics, and statistical genetics.
