Position Title:
Tenure-track Position in Statistics
Duties & Responsibilities:
Applications are invited for two tenure-track faculty positions in Statistics. The specific area of research is open, but candidates with research interests in statistical genetics, computational statistics, Bayesian statistics, or functional data analysis are especially encouraged to apply. Consulting experience is desirable. Appointment is anticipated at the rank of assistant professor, although highly qualified candidates may be considered for appointment at the rank of associate professor. The Department of Mathematical Sciences offers BS, MS, and PhD programs. Current faculty have expertise in applied and computational mathematics; combinatorics, algebra, and number theory; and statistics and probability. Faculty are expected to have an active research program, seek external funding, and provide excellent teaching. Teaching loads are very competitive.
Position Qualifications:
The position starts 20 August 2012, and candidates must complete all requirements for the PhD in Statistics or a related field by that date.
