| Company Information:
Two post-doc fellow positions are available through Dr. Lang Li’s lab in the Center for Computational Biology and Bioinformatics in the Indiana University School of Medicine. Dr. Li’s lab members are from various backgrounds: bioinformatics, genetics, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, and pharmacology. Dr. Li’s research focus is to identify genetic and environmental factors, for example drug interactions, which predict drug responses. His lab is using combined biostatistics, bioinformatics, medical informatics, and biology approaches in hypothesis generation and validation. His research and collaboration areas are primarily cancer and pharmacology related.
Position Title:
Postdoctoral Fellow
Duties & Responsibilities:
Position one focuses on pharmacogenomics. Research includes informatics, computational, and statistical methodology development in the genome-wide association and e-QTL studies in the clinical cancer research. The primary goal is to develop predictive signatures for drug exposure and response. Position two focuses on text mining among pharmacokinetics/pharmacodynamics/ pharmacogenetics (PK/PD/PG) literatures. Research includes entity recognition and information extraction methodology development for public domain PK/PD/PG parameters and relationships. These relationships will be validated in large electronic medical record data bases, biobank, in vitro studies, or clinical trials. The primary goal is for literature based discovery. The secondary goal is to identify new drug mechanisms with significant drug safety problems or drug repositioning.
Position Qualifications:
Position one requires Ph.D. degree in genetics, bioinformatics, biostatistics/statistics, computer science, or other related areas. Programming skills in R and C are required. Position two requires Ph.D. degree in bioinformatics, computer science, and other related areas. Java and Pearl programming skills are required.
