Company Information:

Position Title: Postdoctoral Position in Environmental Biostatistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Departments of Biostatistics and Environmental Health at the Rollins School of Public Health of Emory University invite applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to work on a recently funded NIEHS R01 grant. The project entails development and application of Bayesian statistical methods to the spatio-temporal modeling of ambient air pollutant concentrations estimated using satellite data, CMAQ outputs, and on-the-ground measurements from monitoring stations. The goals of the project are (1) to develop estimates of air pollutant concentrations that can be readily used by epidemiologists and others to study the health effects of outdoor air pollutants on the health of infants and young children and (2) to develop methodologies and statistical approaches that will advance the state of the science in exposure modeling. In addition to this project, the Rollins School of Public Health (in collaboration with the Georgia Institute of Technology) is the location of the Southeastern Center for Air Pollution Epidemiology, one of four Clean Air Research Centers currently supported by the US EPA. We expect that the Postdoctoral Research Fellow will have opportunities to leverage the unique resources offered by this Center. Funding for this position is available immediately and can support the Postdoctoral Research Fellow through August, 2014.

Position Qualifications: Applicants should have successfully defended their dissertation and should have a PhD degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related field.
