Position Title:
Assistant Professor
Duties & Responsibilities:
This position is structured so that 20% of the appointment is teaching (1 course per semester), 30% collaborative research with colleagues in CAFNR, 20% independent research, 20% traditional consulting, and 10% service. Furthermore, the tenure and administrative home for this faculty position resides solely in the Department of Statistics.
Position Qualifications:
The Department of Statistics seeks to fill at least one tenure-track Assistant Professor Position starting Fall 2012. A doctorate in Statistics by August 15, 2012, excellence in teaching and research, and excellent communication skills are required. In addition, the candidate should have an interest in collaborative and methodological research related to the University's College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources (CAFNR). The CAFNR has a broad range of units specializing in Animal Science, Biochemistry, Food Science and Engineering, Plant Science, Natural Resources and Social Sciences (see http://cafnr.missouri.edu/ for more detail). Possible areas of overlap include (but are not limited to): Bayesian methods, bioinformatics, categorical models, environmental statistics, experimental design, linear models, longitudinal models, multivariate methods, and spatial statistics.
