Company Information: The University of Alaska Fairbanks is the major research institution in the University of Alaska system. The Department currently has four Statistics faculty positions. UAF offers an MS degree in Statistics and a Graduate Certificate in Statistics. Position Title: Assistant Professor of Statistics (Tenure Track)

Duties & Responsibilities: Research, teaching and service. This position will involve teaching 2 courses per semester, at the graduate and/or undergraduate level, in statistics. Summer teaching assignments and funded collaborative work with research institutes are commonly available.

Position Qualifications: Minimum qualifications include a Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related area, which should be completed by the start of employment. Duties will include teaching, research and service. Evidence of recent research and instruction is preferred. Publication in refereed journals and a record of effective teaching is an expectation for tenure. Applicants with research interest in any field of statistics will be considered. Those with an interest in collaboration with researchers in the Biological and Wildlife Sciences are especially encouraged to apply.
