Fariborz Maseeh Department of Mathematics & Statistics Tenure Track Position in Statistics The Fariborz Maseeh Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Portland State University invites applications for a tenure track position in Statistics, to begin in Fall 2012. The intent is to fill this faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must have a Ph.D. and an active research program that includes Statistics or the statistical sciences. The successful candidate will demonstrate the potential for contributing to our Ph.D. program and for securing external funding. The successful candidate will be expected to teach graduate and undergraduate courses, and actively participate in supervising graduate students, as well as conduct research. In particular, it is expected that the new hire will actively contribute to our Mathematical Sciences PhD program (http://www.mth.pdx.edu/programs/phd.asp) by offering new courses and attracting outstanding students. Qualified applicants should submit a current CV, a statement of interest that details what the candidate will bring to the position, a description of the candidate’s teaching philosophy and research agenda, and at least three letters of recommendation.
