Position Title: Assistant Professor (Special)

Duties & Responsibilities: Applications are invited for this twelve-month, non-tenure-track position beginning July 1, 2012. Duties include teaching, research, and coordination of the new master’s of applied statistics (MAS) program. The division of duties will be approximately 60% teaching, 20% consulting, and 20% program coordination. Applicants will be expected to teach at all levels, but the teaching assignments will be mostly master’s and undergraduate classes. Consulting will be primarily with faculty and graduate students in other departments, assisting them in designing studies, analyzing data, and interpreting results. Supervision of the MAS program includes managing the admission process, working with the distance learning coordinator, and supervising a support staff member assigned to the MAS program.

Position Qualifications: A PhD in statistics or a related field is required. Preference will be given to applicants with some teaching and consulting experience. Good communications skills and organizational/managerial potential are also desirable, although administrative experience is not expected.
