Faculty Positions in Computational and Statistical Genetics and Genomics

With the aim of further strengthening a world-class research program, the University of Michigan School of Public Health and University of Michigan Medical School seek candidates for tenure-track and tenured faculty positions interested in the genetics and genomics of complex traits. Genetics and genomics research has the potential to greatly inform our understanding of human biology and of the relationship between basic molecular processes and human disease. Areas of interest for the current search include the recruitment of scientists interested in the development of statistical methods or computational tools for the analysis of high-throughput genomic data as well as the recruitment of basic scientists and physician scientists interested in applying these tools to human populations and patient samples to further our understanding of human disease and genomic variation. The successful candidate will have a primary appointment in an appropriate department in the University of Michigan School of Public Health or in the University of Michigan Medical School. Salary and startup funds will be commensurate with experience. There is excellent institutional support for these positions. Junior candidates being considered at the Assistant Professor level will be expected to develop an outstanding research and teaching program. Senior candidates being considered at the Associate or Full Professor level will be expected to have an outstanding research and teaching portfolio, including high-profile publications and a successful record of extramural funding.
