Director, Corporate Strategy & Analysis
Duties & Responsibilities:
The Corporate Strategy Group functions as an in-house strategy consulting group for the company. Projects are completed at the request of the CEO and the senior leadership of UnitedHealth Group's business segments. Projects cover a broad functional spectrum and include business development, operations, pricing and bid strategy, M&A due diligence, public policy, portfolio analysis and market and competitive intelligence. The Corporate Strategy Group is a relatively flat organization with all team members working together to ensure the best possible work product. The Director of Corporate Strategy and Analysis will be responsible for leading a range of projects with the support of business analysts on the team as needed. The role requires interaction with managers and staff at all levels of the organization and candidates must be comfortable in the Board room and in the field. The role requires the ability to work on multiple projects at once and to provide clear thinking and hands-on guidance and training to subordinates collaborating to complete work streams. The role also requires the ability to develop executive-ready written and oral communications to be shared with senior management. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Corporate Strategy, who leads the Corporate Strategy Group. Position located in Minneapolis, MN area or Washington, DC area. Position Qualifications:
• BA/BS and/or graduate degree in statistics or actuarial studies required • MBA preferred • Prior experience with financial analysis and financial modeling required • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint required • 2+ years work experience in management or benefits consulting firm preferred • SAS software experience highly desirable • Demonstrated ability to identify and analyze external and internal data sources, isolate key findings and develop presentations that support informed business decisions • Strong oral / written communication skills required
