The Division of Biostatistics in NYU School of Medicine is located in NYC and is part of New York University. Faculty members in the division develop new statistical methodology and provide the quantitative component to biomedical projects in oncology, arthritis, otolaryngology, among other areas. The Bioinformatics and Exploratory Data Analysis (BEDA) group in Translational Research Sciences Department of Roche Pharma Research and Early Development (pRED) is located in Nutley, NJ. Tightly integrated with bioinformatics specialists the group develops statistical models for discovery/validation of new targets and biomarkers, monitoring drug effects, as well as elucidating the mechanism behind diseases.
Position Title:

Duties & Responsibilities:
The Division of Biostatistics in NYU School of Medicine and the Bioinformatics and Exploratory Data Analysis group in Roche jointly invite applications for a post-doctoral fellow position at a competitive salary for two years available immediately. The major working area is in causal inference of genetics and genomics data in clinical trials. The candidate will work with both organizations developing and implementing statistical and computational methods for estimating the causal effects of genetic and genomic biomarkers on patients’ responses to treatments and apply those methods to important applied problems.
Position Qualifications:
Applicants should have strong quantitative background with statistical and computational skills. Knowledge in biology or genetics is desired but not required. Demonstrated proficiency in programming with a high-level programming language (e.g., C/C++, Java, Perl, and Python) and statistical language (e.g., R, SAS, and MATLAB) is desired.
