Position Title: Tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor Biostatistics

Duties & Responsibilities: The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics seeks a statistician/biostatistician at the rank of Assistant/Associate Professor for its expanding research, teaching and consulting missions. This is a tenure track, academic year (9-month) position that is 50% research, 30% teaching, and 20% consulting. The successful candidate is expected to (1) develop and maintain a vigorous research program of their own, and participate in and/or obtain extramural funding through peer-reviewed grant mechanisms; (2) teach biostatistics courses primarily to graduate students in biostatistics & epidemiology; (3) provide statistical consultation to faculty and graduate students in the department and in the College of Human Medicine. The Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics is committed to promoting the research careers of its faculty and will provide protected time for the candidate to engage in his/her research path.

Position Qualifications: PhD in Statistics/Biostatistics or related discipline, with broad training and experience in applications of novel statistical methodologies to the health sciences. We have interest in candidates with research expertise in several areas including, but not limited to, design and analysis of epidemiologic studies, comparative effectiveness, and healthcare utilization studies. Familiarity with latent-class models, factor-analysis and models for correlated data are desirable. The individual must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and the motivation to act as a team member in collaborative research groups.
